Ravnica!

Last week released the newest set for Magic the Gathering. Magic has been going strong now for 25 years now and it shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. This newest set brings players back to Ravnica, a setting first introduced with the original Ravnica expansion in 2005. In summary; Ravnica is a city worldwide cityscape consisting of a patchwork of grand halls, decrepit slums, and ancient ruins, with layer upon layer of stonework. Guilds of Ravnica are ten sociopolitical factions that hold power on the city plane of Ravnica. Ravnica's theme comes through with it's Guilds, each guild has its own distinct ideology that unifies its members with one another, with the guild itself, with its functions and purposes, and with its structure. In Magic Game Play terms this refers to specific color combinations and muticolor cards that support this deck-building synergy. Ravnica will also mark the setting that Wizards of the Coast plan to finally incorporate the worlds of Magic the Gathering with the worlds greatest roleplaying game, Dungeons and Dragons. Later next month Wizards will launch Guildmasters`Guide to Ravnica finally giving roleplayers an official channel to get their magic on with pen and paper... or pdfs and roll20 with kids now a days.
