Rapport från Gothcon

Last weekend was a sacred time of companionship and celebration. One where we come together as one to celebrate that which gives us purpose in life. Of course I'm talking about GothCon. I'm back and the stomach sickness has warn off so I'm ready to talk about it. For those of you out of the loop, GothCon is an annual convention for Board, Card, Role-playing, and miniature gaming held every year in Gothenburg over the Easter weekend. For three days straight the Hvitfeldtska gymnasiet becomes ground zero for the most intense gaming in the country. My colleagues Johan, Hendrik, Marcus and I were there everyday checking out the hussle and bussle and selling our games. Going to the convention I felt revitalized by the energy and passion that everyone has for gaming.

GothCon's convention atmosphere is one of the nicest I've ever seen, very pleasant and open people for the vast majority. It's a great convention to just talk to all the other game nerds that I get to see on a frequent basis at work but I never really know more about them. Sales wise, we were shocked by how much business we did. We had to go down to the local Gothenburg butik to refill TWICE. Some surprising stand outs were that we sold out of Here Kitty Kitty on the first day, something I'm quite happy about (because as anyone in the Stockholm store could tell you that I am obsessed with cats). Shadows of Brimstone exceed all of our expectations this year, by the end of the first day we had sold out of the core boxes we brought with us and had to make an emergency trip for more. Finally Mouse Guard had a huge amount of interest this year at the con. I can't wait for next year.
