As I attempted to capture them on canvas, however, I became aware of a deeper mystery. There are so many Green Man figures, but where was the Green Woman? Why had she been relegated to the spiritual shadows? I started to paint again. Faces emerged from the darkness of the unknown: Green Women in multiple forms, all insisting that they should be seen and heard.” —Brian Froud
