There, Beneath the Water, Volume 2

Everyone in town knows the story of the mermaid.

She lives in the lake, alone. The townsfolk say she eats humans. They say she lures them into the water. They say she'll turn you into a monster.

But Chitose doesn't eat humans. She once had a human best friend. Someone who understood her. Someone she believed loved her as much as she loved them.

And as the girls in town draw closer to Chitose, memories of that friendship begin to surface. Memories of a promise. Memories of what happened when her friend tried to leave.

Because Chitose has been alone for a very long time.

And she doesn't want to be alone again.
