Falling in love shouldn't be fatal - unless you're hexed, heartless or hiding a deadly secret. Daisy has a secret: she's a Souleater, an outlawed magical being who can feed off of emotions. She's also hexed: her kiss cursed to kill. So she's built a quiet life running a crumbling inn on the edge of town, matchmaking guests while keeping her own heart firmly off-limits. But when a mysterious contest promises a cure for Souleater magic and a reward big enough to save her inn, Daisy sets off on a perilous quest with Astin, her emotionally unavailable (and infuriatingly attractive) gardener.
