Set in Viking Russia in A.D. 1020, "The Plague Widow" sees a remote settlement rocked by a contagious outbreak. As the citizens shut out the outside world, they don't realize who they're shutting themselves in with. In "The Siege of Paris," a foot solider gives a grunt's-eye view of the Viking assault of the city. And in "Metal," an exiled blacksmith and young girl launch a violent crusade against those who wronged them.
